How do they protect their self and how do they fihte

A cuttlefish  grabs their prey with their tentacles there tentacles are very strong so

The prey can not get out. The cuttlefish sprays clouds of ink made of ink and mukiss. Because of the cuttlefish being easy prey it has one of the best camouflage in the world (can blend into almost everything).The skin of cuttlefish changes color rapidly, in order to evade predators, using elastic pigment sacs called chromatophores.

 

Is it a plant eater or a meat eater and what does it eat

 

A cuttlefish is a meat eater.They eat shrimp and tiny little fish. Did you know a cuttlefish is a canbaull (That means it eats other cuttlefish)

cuttlefish eat small molluscs, crabs, shrimp, fish, octopuses, and  worms.

 

About the cuttlefish’s body

 

Did you know Cuttlebone, found in the body of a cuttlefish, is used by pet birds to get calcium.  Cuttlefish have green-blue blood and 3 hearts! Cuttlefish have 8 arms and 2 long tentacles used for feeding. they don’t see the same as we do. Cuttlefish have W shaped eyelids so they can see in front of them and behind them at the same time.  Cuttlefish are color blind.

 

How many sepsis of cuttlefish

Did you know that there are 120 sepsis of cuttlefish.The Common Cuttlefish is up to 65 cm long and can weight 4 kg, animals in warmer seas are generally smaller.

  1. Cuttlefish are cephalopods, not fish. Cephalopods include octopus, squid and nautilus.
  2. Cuttlefish, along with most cephalopods, are the ocean’s most intelligent invertebrates.
  3. A cuttlefish’s camouflage is so good that it can take on a checkerboard pattern placed beneath it.
  4. Cuttlefish are color blind.
  5. Cuttlefish taste with their suckers that are on its tentacles.
  6. The largest cuttlefish is the Australian giant cuttlefish, which is the size and shape of an American football.
  7.  Without this cuttlefish, many great works of art and literature would not exist! The dark-brown ink of the common cuttlefish, called sepia, was once used extensively for writing and drawing.

Cuttlefish can change their skin color and pattern almost instantly. They use their skin to communicate—flashing stripes and patches of color convey threats or courtship messages.

  1. They can actually see the angle at which the light is reflected and polarized, and even the subtlest change will activate their color-changing defense mechanism, as researchers at the University of Bristol and University of Queensland recently discovered
