100 word challenge suddenly

Hi my name is Danielle.  I love gymnastics, I go on Tuesday and Thursday, competitions are on Saturday. I practice hard to win but Anna one of my teammates does not care about winning, she always lets us down. Coach Marie always tells Anna the same thing. The day of the competition arrives as we were doing are routine, Suddenly Anna forgets a skill the kick over and we get a 1.10. I am upset my team tried so hard to win but Anna let us down. After the competition ended I walked over to my team and cried and cried.

Mantis Shrimp

Introduction

Deep down in the ocean, a mantis shrimp is using its limbs to strike its prey. The mantis shrimp strike with lightning speed.

 

Predators and Prey

The Mantis shrimp has Many different predators such as the flamboyant cuttlefish,mimic octopus and the veined octopus. The mantis shrimp has a bunch of different prey such as the snail,meat,fish,crab,mulluscus and rock oysters.

 

Mantis shrimp have Adaptations

Mantis shrimp  have distinctive emerald eyes that contain more photoreceptors than human eyes  Which means they see colors faster than humans.  Mantis shrimps fold their limbs ready to attack their prey. It helps them kill fish and other sea creatures. Mantis shrimp uses vibrations from their muscles to attract mates and warn other mantis shrimp that it’s their territory.

 

How Does Mantis Shrimp Kill Its Prey?

Mantis shrimp kill similar to a praying mantis. Mantis shrimp use limbs on the side of an animal’s mouth. Mantis shrimp strike amazingly fast.

Where does the mantis shrimp live

Mantis Shrimp live in the warm waters of the Pacific and Indian ocean.  Mantis shrimp live 15 meters below the ocean floor.

Fun Facts

Some people name the mantis shrimp stomatopoda or mouth foot.  Mantis shrimp make noises using vibrations with their muscles.  Mantis shrimp uses their limbs as weapons and to kill

Mantis shrimp are nocturnal or diurnal depending on the species.  Mantis shrimp live 15 meters below the ocean floor.

 

Conclusion

Overall the mantis shrimp is a fascinating crustacean that lives in the warm waters of the Indian and Pacific ocean. The mantis shrimp is a nocturnal crustacean that strikes amazingly fast. It also  has other adaptations to help it survive. How cool is the mantis shrimp?
