Teachers work tirelessly to create materials and resources to support learning in their classrooms. We are collecting example lesson planning resources to share among ACPS teachers to help lighten the load of planning for instruction. Take a look at the FAQs below, then navigate to the Content Area of your choice to submit a resource. Thank you for contributing to the curriculum to support all students!
Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I submit a lesson planning resource?
We have created a simple Google form to use for each content area. Provide general information about the resource, including the unit and related Standard(s) of Learning. Use the check-boxes to tag the resource to help other teachers know at-a-glance what kind of resource it is. Share a sample lesson objective and describe how the resource might be used. Then upload the file directly to the form, and you’re done! For detailed instructions, click here: ACPS-LessonResourceExchange-Directions-ppmz3e
2. Do I have to submit an entire lesson plan?
No! The goal is to collect building blocks that teachers can use to construct engaging lessons that meet the needs of the learners in their particular classroom. You might submit a graphic organizer, a vocabulary activity, a formative assessment, a cooperative learning exercise, a reading or writing prompt, an investigation or inquiry, or some other resource. Of course if you wish to submit a full lesson plan, please do so.
3. Where will these resources be shared?
For now, resources will be shared in Google Drive and linked to from the ACPS Curriculum. As part of the Curriculum and Instruction Project Plan, we hope to move the written curriculum to a web-based platform over the next two years. This will allow for targeted searching of resources and will include a space for teachers to share and review resources. Submitted resources may be more fully developed by curriculum and instructional specialists to meet the needs of more teachers.
4. What about copyright issues?
When you submit resources, please cite any materials that are not your original work, including any textbook resources you have adapted for classroom use. Please consult ACPS Policy EGAA on Reproduction and Use of Copyrighted Materials for guidelines.
5. Can I get re-certification points for submitting resources?
Yes! You can receive two certification points for each resource you submit, for up to a maximum of 30 points.
