Odyssey of the Mind

An information session for parents and teachers interested in Odyssey of the Mind will be held on Wednesday, October 4th at 6:30pm in the George Washington Middle School library and on Thursday, October 5th at 6:30pm at James K Polk Elementary School.

Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.

Each year the TAG office supports Odyssey of the Mind team membership fees for any schools who are interested in fielding a team. Odyssey of the Mind depends heavily on parent support through coaching and guiding the students, organizing practices, attending tournaments and supporting efforts to support students as they work together to solve interesting real-world problems.
