Rewordify

Do you need to adjust a reading passage for different levels of learners? Check out Rewordify (https://rewordify.com/) Rewordify will allow you to paste in a text selection and it will change key vocabulary to make it easier to read. It does more than just replace the words though, it highlights the words it replaced and if you hover over the replacement word, it will show you the word it replaced. Excellent for bridging to new vocabulary for students.

Permission Form for Web Tools

Remember that if you are using digital tools that ask students to create accounts, you must check the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to see if you are able to use that tool with students under the age of 13 and if you need parent permission for students of any age to use that tool. Not sure? Ask us! Here is a sample permission form you can use to get parental consent.

Hapara is Live

ACPS has Hapara again this year.  There was an issue with the Hapara and PowerSchool sync that we believe is now resolved. As a reminder, to use Hapara, be sure you are in Chrome and logged into your ACPS Google Account. Go to https://highlights.teacherdashboard.com and click on Highlights, Current Screens to see what students are doing on their chromebooks. For more information, click here. If you experience difficulties, please let us know!

Clever – New Online Portal to ACPS resources

Clever is an easy way to access key ACPS resources. On student chromebooks Click on Chrome to open a new tab, then click the Home Icon to access the Clever page. Students will be asked to login in with Google. The student will then see icons to a number of different applications like Canvas, Imagine Math and the Destiny Library catalog. Students may still be asked to log in with Google an additional time but as long as students are logged into their chromebook, there should be fewer times students are having to enter usernames and passwords or enter URL addresses. You can use Clever too! Go to: https://clever.com/in/alexandria and choose Login with Google.
