Supervises two after-school programs with children in grades K-5.
Supervision and management of each program in accordance with the goals and regulations developed by The Campagna Center, the Virginia Department of Social Services, and the National School-Age Alliance. Principal duties include:
- development of a comprehensive school-age program
- planning and implementation of daily activities
- evaluating the effectiveness of activities
- supervising staff and volunteers
- ensuring the safety and well-being of all children
- regularly communicating with parents
- contributing to the effective operation of the overall child care program

What types of work will the intern perform?
- Set up and break down the site each day (includes lifting).
- Ensure that all materials needed for the daily activities are accessible and replenish as needed.
- Conduct scheduled daily activities with groups of children at the site in accordance with the posted lesson plan.
- Actively engage children in daily plans, interact with children in a positive manner and help assistant group leaders to do the same.
- Assist with the preparation and serving of snacks to children on a daily basis.
- Clean and sanitize all tables before children arrive, after snack time and at the end of the day.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude at all times, with other staff, children and parents.
