Did you know that an International Academy has opened up at Francis C. Hammond Middle School just a couple of miles from T.C. Williams High School? The IA at Hammond M.S. is similar to the IA at TCW – both follow the INPS model to offer special suites of classes and supports to English language learners within a larger public high school. Whereas the IA at TCW was the very first time INPS developed a program within a larger school (as opposed to being a stand-alone school), the IA at Hammond MS is the very first time INPS has developed a program at the middle school level. Very exciting stuff, folks. Alexandria City schools are on the fore-front of change, once again.
