After Nina’s grandmother had to go to the hospital, Nina was picked up by her friend Chris and Wei. “It was freezing outside, and dark.” This reminds me of a time when I went to the hospital because my baby brother was sick. After the doctors checked him, we were able to go home. It was dark outside, probably around 9 or 10 PM, and it was during the winter, so it was very cold. I remember being so tired and sleepy after being at the hospital for a while. This connection helps me understand exactly how Nina was feeling when she got into the car and was ready to go home.
