Blog post # 21 The Authors purpose

April19

I am currently reading car smarts written by Phil Edmonston and Maureen Sawa. In this book the authors are giving us information about how cars work and how they were made. For example “Cugnot, a French military engineer, developed his steam-powered vehicle as a gun carriage to help the French army move its artillery pieces in and around the city of Paris.” (Edmonston and Sawa # 1) This quote proves that cars are very important to the military and even human beings. With vehicles people can transport goods easily. In this quote the authors’ purpose is to explain or give us information about military use of cars in other way, they need cars to move their artillery pieces in and around the city of Paris. This helps me to understand about the usefulness of cars and how they are important to people.
