I am currently reading Car Smarts. In this part of the book the author is trying to explain or give us information about car engines. The authors’ main idea is to give us information about how the steam engine was important to transportation. For example “Yet despite the success of steam power, many scientists and inventors were convinced that even more effective ways of running an engine could be developed. ”(Edmonston and Sawa # 5) This quote proves that steam engines at one point were important. However, as time went on new technology was made and new engines were made to make transportation easier.
