During the 1800s to 1900s, combustion engines were first made to help move wheels, through the invention of combustion engines, car were created. Cars were start with cranking up the engine with the hand to start the car. This process was very dangerous for example “It required a lot of strength to turn the engine with the crank, and if the vehicle backfired, the crank would turn with sudden force and cause serious injury.”(Edmonston & Sawa # 16) However today there are no engine were you have to crank the engine for the car to start. Today we are using electrical system to start our cars. In this process we use the car battery wherein the car battery stores enough electrical energy from the car’s alternator and produces alternating current to start the car.
