In this chapter, Nujood flashes back to the beginning of her marriage. For the past three nights she explains how she is brutally raped by her husband. Her mother in-law and sister in-law don’t see anything wrong with the situation. Nujood’s husband would not only physically abuse her but verbally abuse her as well. He would tell her that he was tired of her whining and he didn’t marry her to listen to her snivel all the time.  Nujood said “It hurt me to be talked to that way.”(Nujood,93). This is probably the only thing i could relate to with Nujood. My mom has said some hurtful things to me in a moment of anger. I would feel she shouldn’t talk to me like that because i was her daughter and it want right. Being disrespected verbally could really hurt I understand Nujood’s struggle with verbal abuse because it can really hurt you.
