This book is very misterious. It presents a few new characters every other or every chapter and it gives a brief explanation about the connections between them. Delores has two kids and two grandchildren which she loves but she doesn’t particularly like them and she is a little bit odd sometimes and apparently she has an obsession for cleanliness. In the last few chapters, Dolores has disappeared and nobody knows about her. I wonder what happened to her? I wonder why she is not communicating with her friend nor assisting to her activities.  “The phone at Delores’s house rang all afternoon and into the evening of Sunday, July 22, 1984.” Is Delores out of the country and didn’t tell anybody? why is she acting this way and she doesn’t care that people worry about her. Delores also has paranoia about crime therefore when she leaves, she always leaves her phone off the hook ” Her callers knew that Delores always left the phone off the hook when she was away, one of her many ways of foiling robbers” I wonder why is she so scared about crime. Was she ever a victim of crime and is that why she is so concerned?
