a long way gone( evaluation)

June15

A long way gone is the most violent book that i have ever read. eventhough The book was very frightning, i enjoyed reading because it made me appreciate my life and the people in it. after all the obstacles that the narrator went through in his childhood, i understand why the title of the book is a long way gone.  it is also relieving to know that the narrator of this book is still alive and safe after losing his family and friends, walking two days in a forest without sleeping and not even having anything to eat. “when i was little my father used to say: if you are alive, there is hope for a better day and something good to happen… i thought about these words during my journey, and they kept me moving evenwhen i didnt know where i was going” (beah,54). this quote really touched me and shows how courageous the author was. i really enjoyed reading this book and i am glad i did.
