I predict that Gavin has suffered a major injury. In the text it said, “And he jerked his head toward me, turned, started to take a step, and crumpled to the ground. He went down like he was shot” (Deford 76). When someone is walking and they just crumple to the ground it is not a good sign. This also reminded me of the time when my friend was running during a soccer game and then immediately fell down to the ground. He had hurt his knee and was not able to play for the rest of the season. From what I know if someone goes down like they were shot it must have been really bad. This all points to a major injury.
