Final message to the world from Pearl (Ch. 20-24)

November6

I have figured out who my father is now. Mr. Dimmesdale was my father the whole time it surprised me, but at first I did not react the way most people would believe I would have; thinking I would jump up and hug him. He did admit to his sin however “Thou too has deeply sinned.” It took a lot of courage from him to admit to his sin. I have forgiven him before he passed away. I still miss him now even though he has passed away. Dimmesdale died after he admitted his sin “Departed spirit.” (Hawthorne 200). It was a hard hit because I thought that we would be able to live together after that.

I wonder if he was still alive would we have lived happily like in the stories I heard about princesses such as Cinderella. I guess not every story has a happy ending I am glad that Dimmesdale admitted to his sin and finally was relieved from it. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to admit to a wrong committed in front of all people. I still believe he died from his grief and from Chillingworth constantly and slowly killing him by haunting him about the sin and reminding him every so often. Dimmesdale my father most likely died from this constant guilt from the sin.

I still behave the way I do and I believe that people should be accepted the way they are even if they seem to be weird or different. I have found a site in which helps why people behave the way they do http://www.innovationmagazine.com/innovation/volumes/v5n3/coverstory1.shtml. This site can help explain why people can be so offensive against anyone. It  gave me valuable insight on why people might have been so mad by my mother in the beginning of all of this drama and I hope it can help many of you out there.
