Endgame, nothing but the truth!(Chapters 20-24)

November7

My face when I meet Hester’s eyes across the market place; her face in distraught.

Day 85: Today, Dimmesdale told me that he does not require my services anymore. Darn, it seems as though he may know my identity. Chilling worth’s state of mind, “The physician knew, then, that, in the minister’s regard, he was no longer a trusted friend, but his bitterest enemy. So much being known, it would appear natural that a part of it should be expressed.”(Hawthorne 175). I have also heard news that Dimmesdale was off to Europe on a boat.

Day 86: I have convinced the crew of the boat that Dimmesdale is to voyage with to Europe. All I had to say to them was that they would most likely require some sort of medical professional on the trip. It also helped that I lied about me  being part of their group. These people are so gullible; they will believe anything. As I was thinking over my progress with Dimmesdale, the sight of Hester in the marketplace caught my attention. She must have known by now that I was to join them on their voyage, based on her face filled with horror and distraught. I smirk at her, at her dismay. The time where Hester and Chillingworth’s eyes meet, ” Nothing further passed between the mariner and Hester Prynne. But, at that instant, she beheld old Roger Chillingworth himself, standing in the remotest corner of the market-place, and smiling on her; a smile which—across the wide and bustling square, and through all the talk and laughter, and various thoughts, moods, and interests of the crowd—conveyed secret and fearful meaning.”(Hawthorne 184).
THAT FOOL! How could Dimmesdale ignore my attempts to stop him! I can not believe that Dimmesdale had the guts to confess! That idiotic fool, to whom shall I have the pleasure of torturing now?! That selfish man has given to me nothing but pure in enjoyment when he was in agony and alive. To whom shall I stalk now? Who will be my next victim? My obsession over the displeasure of this man was uncontrollably amusing, however shall I get over it? One cannot merely get rid of one’s life long work without some sort of attachment to it.

Day 451: It’s been at least a year now since Dimmesdale’s demise. I have accomplished nothing worthy of noting here. Nothing, except the inheritance that I shall leave to Pearl when I pass, as I feel it is coming in the near future. But first, I must research how to leave such a worthy inheretence to Pearl: http://www.wikihow.com/Write-Your-Own-Last-Will-and-Testament
