Evaluation- Everybody’s All-American

November8

Gavin Grey, the main character, is very self centered. Maybe being a very famous former professional football player may have that affect people. When he is filming a commercial for a hair product and in the commercial the co-star is not supposed to acknowledge that he is famous. Gavin says “I don’t like the way she doesn’t know me, … You gotta remember. I was everybody’s All-American. I was on The Ed Sullivan Show” (Deford 342). The attitude in which he said that makes him look very self centered. It was just a commercial the co-star knew who he was in real life and so would the viewer. Even though it was just a commercial and he was acting he had to make sure he was known, it shows that he is very conceited and not able to just have fun.
