In the Hunger Games, Katniss is forced to compete against 23 other contestants for survival. As Katniss is waiting for the countdown to strike zero, I can see a large open field with 24 people waiting. The people from Districts one and two have the faces of determination and fearlessness. When Katniss starts to train in the room with the other tributes she explains to the reader that, “It’s technically against the rules to train tributes before they reach the Capitol but it happens every year [ with Districts 1, 2, and 4]”(Collins 94). Others have a stoic face, while some have the expression of fear and regret on their faces.
