My life in 7 days through photos
Title: My life in 7 days through photos.
Reflection: Let’s Bake- The results show that even while doing something fun such as baking, reading is involved. This shows that in my life I incorporate reading without realizing it. This shows that literacy is very important because you use it while doing things you enjoy. I could’ve acccomplished this activity without the text by asking a friend for directions who does know how to bake brownies. Reading is power to the extent that we use it at times without paying attention to it.
Serving size- The results show that I need to know how to read in order to monitor how much of a certain thing I eat. I could’ve accomplished this activity without the text by estimating how much I think would be the appropriate amount to eat. Reading is power to the extent that it helps us stay healthy by allowing us to read labels.
Storytime: The results show that in order to be able to bond with my niece and make her happy I have to be able to read a book. I could’ve still bonded with my niece without the text by just looking at the pictures and coming up with my own story. Reading is power to the extent that it allows us to bond with the people we love.
Twitter time: The results show that in order to socialize on the internet you have to be able to read and write. I could’ve accomplished the same activity without the text by calling the person who’s tweet came up and ask them what they tweeted. Reading is power to the extent that it allows us to communicate with a person without speaking to them directly with words coming out of our mouth.
Chewy?!: The results show that in order to purchase the correct type of cookies that I like I have to be able to read what’s on the container. I could’ve accomplished the same activity without the text by focusing on the color of the box since the orginial chips ahoy’s conainer is blue and not red. Reading is power to the extent that it makes things easier for us to the point where we don’t have to think too hard about something.
Hmm..Choices: The results show that in order to decide what I’m going to eat at a restaurant I have to be able to read what’s on the menu. I could’ve accomplished this activity without the text by looking at the pictures or asking someone to read what’s on the menu out loud for me. Reading is power to the extent that it allows us to be independent and not rely on others to do things for us.
