In Catching Fire, Katniss and her party find out that the arena is a giant clock that has traps set for each hour. Wiress finds out that “the tail points towards twelve o’clock,” the clock would be according to the center, where the players first started (Collins 151). Since the gang only knows when lightning, blood, fog, and the monkies occur. I wonder what happens on the other time frames since that only covers four out of the twelve hours. I wonder if the other players have even experienced the unknown traps, and what they’re like. How has everyone one else survived so far with such a different environment than the last Hunger Games. Do the tributes hold a grudge against the game makers, since they have to go at it again in the games, even though they were promised that they weren’t.
