STEM on the Potomac – River Boat Tour

On Wednesday May 4 the STEM on the Potomac group IMG_6562and forty fifth grade students from Jefferson Houston Elementary school, took a Potomac River Boat tour to learn more about Alexandria’s local waterway. The group, led by English teacher Emmet Rosenfeld, spent the day identifying different features of the river and discussing history and environmental issues; documenting their observations at several predetermined locations. The boat tour was the culminating activity of a year-long capstone project during which several groups of STEM 10 students created and delivered river-related lessons to Jefferson Houston students.
