What types of work will the intern perform?

The intern will be assisting me in program preparation, which includes setting up tables, prepping teaching packets, reorganizing and inventorying supplies afterwards; compiling survey data; and assisting with the Regional History Day competition (checking registrations and notifying participants of missing pieces, creating schedules, etc.). Opportunities to create craft projects for our toddler program, research related children’s books, and do marketing research available depending on interest of student. Also have the opportunity to train to be a tour guide of the museum.

What might a highly motivated intern experience while working for your organization?

Experience in event management, some lesson planning, public speaking (if choose to learn the tour). Our interns are treated as team-members and invited to anything that is happening during their time here. Projects are chosen to compliment the student’s interests and abilities, and the opportunity for additional responsibility is available depending on performance.
