  • iPhone
    • If you have a smart phone, you have an instant fluency monitor. I use my iPhone to record students reading to instantly play the recording back to them to reflect on how they sounded.
  • Audacity
    • Audacity is a free audio recorder/editor/mixer. You can record sounds, play sounds, import and export WAV, AIFF, and MP3 files, and more. Use it to edit your sounds using Cut, Copy and Paste (with unlimited Undo), mix tracks together, or apply effects to your recordings.
    • I use this application to record reading passages for common reading assessments. The reading passages for common assessments are always on grade level, and for many students who are not reading on grade level, these passages are more challenges to access. Students can use these recordings to listen to the reading passages as many times as they need to complete the assessment.
  • Class Dojo
    • Class Dojo is an interactive classroom management system providing opportunities for skill and culture building. Students can gain and lose dojo points for various learning behaviors and the integration of technology allows for the involvement of parents as well.Screen Shot 2016-05-07 at 7.50.56 PM
