Ms. Lorintz & Ms. Scott’s Project Information:
We teach first grade general education classes at James K. Polk Elementary School in Alexandria, Virginia.
Our students use the Doceri application on the iPads in our first grade classrooms in order to build presentations showcasing their math knowledge at the end of each unit. The videos were used as an authentic assessment to demonstrate math proficiency. The students learned how to use the application and then created their own video at the end of each math unit to teach others about the content. The students took photographs of math manipulatives, uploaded pictures, created a slideshow and added their voice to their presentations.
