I teach 7th grade social studies. I am also the department chair for social studies and a team leader. Lastly, I sponsor an extracurricular activity called Global Citizens in Action in which girls in Alexandria, Virginia and Kabul, Afghanistan communicate via video conferences and a social networking site.

What types of work will the intern perform?

  • Observing/shadowing teachers
  • Facilitating whole class and small group lessons (if interested)
  • Organizing events (i.e. National History Day)
  • Attending meetings
  • Photocopying and scanning papers
  • Running errands around the building, etc.
