I am a child care director. I manage state licensed center based child care program for school-age children after-school. I work with community organizations to provide enrichment opportunities children and families in the Alexandria community.
I supervise eight employed staff, two contracted tutors, 85 children, three activity enrichment teachers and rotating volunteers.

What types of work will the intern perform?
- Assisting children in daily activities (arts and crafts, sports, outdoor play, indoor play, reading, homework)
- Assist center staff in activity preparation and implementation
- Assist center staff in center set up, break down and daily cleaning routines
- Inform center staff of all child behavioral incidents and accidents
- Attend weekly mentoring session with center director
