In the chapter I read over this week was based on how Ricky was unable to contact Elizabeth to inform her that her mother passed away. The anxiety he felt about the fact that he would be held resopnsible of the fact that Elizabeth did not attend the funeral.

I have been in a similar situation. I was held responsible because my cousin did not make it to her surprise party on time. My aunt was beyond disappointed on my behalf. I attempted to persuade my cousin to leave the salon before the time of the party but it was done in vain.

The connection I have with the chapter was that Ricky and I were both held responsible which seems unfair because the fact that even when we tried to achieve something we failed to do so. The way Ricky must have felt I went thru so I can have a better understanding of the text because of the fact that I have gone thru a similar situation before.
