Me the Reverend Dimmesdale!

October25

I’m the Reverend Dimmesdale everyone loves me. I am the minister of Hester Prynne. “I am very upset that a member of my church would do such a thing.” I think it’s wrong to force woman to reveal her secrets in the town square in front of her neighbors. I think that the woman in this case has already sinned, and her sin, the baby, can be seen by everyone. The governor then challenged me in front of everyone. He told me that I am responsible for saving Hester soul. Then the governor asked me how I am going to make her tell her secret. After that everyone’s eyes then turned to me. I was well-known in the town. The governor remembered me that Hester soul is in my hands. I had a rich, sweet, powerful voice that would have persuaded almost anyone in the crowd. Hester then turned to me and said to speak up for her. I am her pastor and responsible for her soul. Hester is right. God has made this mother and this strange child to be together. Who else knows how to handle this odd little girl? I think the girl is good for the mother, too. God gave her the child as a curse, to remind her of her shame every day. God also gave her the child as a blessing, to teach Hester to accept her wrong to learn to love as God wants her to. The child is God’s way of sharing love and forgiveness, even for this sinner. The Governor slapped me on the shoulder, nearly knocking me over. He told me that I have persuaded him. The Governor said that the child will remain with her mother. Exhausted from the speech I walked away from the goup. Pearl also slipped away and snuck over to me. She took my hand and rubbed it against her cheek.
