I read a very interesting article titled “How the CIA Used a Fake Sci-Fi Flick to Rescue Americans From Tehran”. It seemed like a movie plot, but it is very real. This happened in 2007 and everything went very well. A very known CIA agent mastered up this plan to save americans from Tehran, Iran. This hostage situation lasted 444 days and was a big political problem. Until one day, this agent made up a plan to save them. Since americans couldn’t leave Iran, he had fake identities(from other countries) made for the people that could not leave Iran. He assigned them jobs under a famous production company and made the international media believe this movie was actually happening. He made the location at Iran so he could travel no problem. Once he got there, he gave the identities to his fellow americans and trained them so they would not get caught. After several weeks, they were finally ready and left Iran. The iranian airport police did not even suspect anything, and let them through. In my opinion, this shows the capability of the human mind. Using something so simple as a movie, multiple lives were saved and brought safely back home. It also reflects that there is always a way. No matter how hard, or how impossible a task at hand may seem, with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
