Live to Ride

November4

When was the birth of the motorcycle? In 1816 a huge volcanic eruption of Tambora on the island of Sumbawa in Indonesia released ash in to the air and caused starvation.  “Famine followed the eruption, and people all across Europe ate whatever they could find, including roots and rodents.  Before that, they resorted to the widespread slaughtering of horses for meat.”By killing all the horses which was the only form of transportation they were resort to travel by foot. To replace the horse a German inventor named Karl Dais invented the Laufmaschine which was the first bicycle. Over the years they replace pedals with motors. Thus giving the name motorcycle. With out the bicycle the motorcycle would have never existed.
