In the book “Until We Meet Again “ Darcy hasn’t heard from Hakeem her boyfriend.  She calls him; he tells her their waiting on a call how he couldn’t speak in that moment. Hakeem then promised that he would call her the next night. Waiting on his call all day, call after call Hakeem still never called. Still waiting Darcy then gets a call from Brian. He says he got her number from Liselle. He asks her whether she was busy the next day, she tells him she has to study for final exams. He understands and says well maybe sometime during the summer they could, Darcy agreed.  She doesn’t understand why Hakeem didn’t call like he promised he would. I can connect because I have had people make promises to me that they didn’t keep. Don’t tell me you’re going to call me back in 5 min and don’t call me back at all, that’s that type of stuff I don’t like. I can predict that Hakeem continuing of pushing Darcy away leads her right into Brians arms. Darcy and Brian start talking more. Hakeem finally calls her and she can’t talk. Babysitting for Darcy becomes a way of trying to not stress about Hakeem.
