If you don’t have a “Rut” , You’re a Nut! Be honest, admit everything in your gut. . . .

December11

Everyone has a fault;  whether it’s big or little, no one is perfect. I have many ruts, but the main one I’m focusing on is cursing. Cursing makes my life less simple because sometimes I accidently say it and I get in trouble. Cursing makes a young lady look ignorant and uneducated. The reason why cursing will be hard to break, is because I curse in almost every sentence. I curse so much that one time I was with talking to my friend and she said I cursed and I did not believe her because I did not remember. This experiment will start me on my way to be a better person. You cannot get employed by having a sailors mouth! To help me stop before the start of conversation, I’m going to think before I speak so that I know everything I want to say before it comes out. I also want to look up bigger and more intellegent words to use to replace the curse words. I hope to gain more respect from my friend, and family during this experiment. These words from Thoreau are so very true “Our life is frittered away by detail.”

It is very hard to break habits. I read somewhere that is takes 3 months of doing something to make it a habit. I am unsure if it also takes 3 months to stop doing a habit.
I agree with your idea to learn different words to replace the curse words. Watch some of the animated TV shows like The Simpsons. They use a lot of good words instead of curse words, and it would be a fun way to learn new ways to say things.
