December11

I am reading about this family that is in America and is eating at this Chinese restaurant. They haven’t ate Chinese food before and they not use to it. So they trying something new by going to this restaurant and eating this type of food. The kids seem like they don’t really like it but the store owners forcing food on them to try. The store owners keep asking they to try their celery. the parents seem like they are not a big fan of the food but they would eat it.

I think it is important to try new things. I like it when other people give me new food to try to tell me what to try, like the owner of the restaurant did with this family. I think it is interesting that in the story the people were willing to try something new but they don’t seem to like it. How did the author let you know that the kids and the parents were not enjoying the food? What words or phrases did the author use to make you think that?
