Honda introduced itself into the world road-racing circles in 1959.  Honda released the step-through Cub 50 cc.  The Cub, was a motorcycle that had a uni-body, valenced fenders and was painted a bright cheerful blue.  The engine was located at the rider’s feet and had a stylish exhaust pipe and chrome muffler.  The Cub 50 made Honda a powerhouse manufacturer.  Fifty plus years later, Honda is still making them.  “At this writing, more than 60 million Cubs (this model alone) have been sold worldwide, more than any other single model of bike”.  Honda had run a number if failed enterprises before turning to the manufacture of motorcycles.
