Walden plan

December13

My “rut” is the fact that I watch too much sport. I grew around people who are addicted to sports ,and so I grew up having the same addiction. I spend a lot of my time watching or doing sports but eventually I realized even though sports are good entertainment and good for a healthy life ,but am spending too much time on it and I can use this time in more beneficial ways like studying or spending time with my family. The most difficult thing about breaking my addiction is that all my family is always watching sports especially my brothers who watches and play sports 24/7 and I cannot forget about my coaches who on the other hand expects from me to come to practice every day because am so addicted, I cannot play sports without watching any ,but regardless of all these  obstacles ,am willing to not watch any kind of sports for one week. I know it is going extremely hard and maybe impossible, but am willing to try because I can accept failure ,but what I cannot accept is not trying.

I guess there is a fine line between being good at something and being obsessed by something. You need to spend a lot of time practicing a sport to get good at it. There is also something to be said for watching a sport and learning from just watching. But, if you only do that one thing, you might become a little boring to other people because then that is all you know about. Maybe during the week try to learn about something you know very little about and see what that does for you. Maybe watch a cooking show?
