Walden Entry #3

January7

Going to be bed earlier for a week was way harder than I thought. I realizedĀ  long I stayed on my laptop and how much television I looked at. Going to bed early gave me the energy I needed during the day to give school the attention it needed for me to maintain my grades. So overall this experience had a very positive effect on my life. I have cut down on some of the television I look at and how long I stay on my laptop. The experience simplified my life. This experience also helped me to stop taking so many naps when I got home from school and that led to me doing all of my homework when I got home. I was glad to have had this experience because I have never had to give anything up and now I know that I can do it. I truly believe what Henry David Thoreau said when he said, “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals” because when you achieve a goal you become a better person and more confident that you canĀ achieve things.

There are studies that say teenagers should get 9 1/4 hours of sleep EVERY night! That means that if you get up at 7:00 AM to get to TC by 8:35 you would have to be ASLEEP no later than10:15 PM EVERY night.
