Blog Post 15 – Ready For Revolution

January28

Stokely has just got admitted into the Bronx High School of Science. He befriends a boy named Gene Dennis. Stokely and Dennis got along great and his parents loved him. Stokely even said that although Gene was white, his parties always had dancing that was common in black parties and discussions that were common in white parties; a “cultural synthesis,”were Stokely’s exact words. A few days later another boy from school comes up to Stokely and says “Why are you always hanging out with that blank, blank, expletive, blank Communist Gene?” Stokely didn’t know Gene was a communist but he decided he had never done harm to him so who was he to judge. Saying “”If they haven’t put him in jail, then it’s not our business,” I predict that Stokely will become a communist because after finding out that Gene was a communist heĀ  said “…but it wasn’t too long before i was going to meetings of the Young Communist League, attending study groups, and eventually attending their rallies,” and he became known around the school because he was always at socialist rallies. He said he agreed with their ideas, except the fact that most communist were atheist and his family was deeply religious.
