As soon as I have started this book I already made an evaluation on the main character. This book starts with an old man who has lost his wife and deals with it in a manner that is sweet and emotional. He thought that it was more of a “quiet relief really (page 4),” this was only because he was happy that his wife was finally able to have relief because she was dealing with brutal cancer. He was a true loving husband who always was their for his wife, he did not leave her alone when she needed help night and day. He was always their for her “for the last seven years Henry had fed her, bathed her, helped her to the bathroom when she needed to go, and back again when she was all through. (page 3)”  As I keep reading i know that his actions will have a lasting impression on me because how he was able to keep helping his wife for the last seven years.
