I am still currently reading Vampire Diaries. I am now at the part where Stefan is sharing with Elena why he has been so distant. The reason why he has been so distant is because he cannot stop thinking about how the girl he used to love, named Katharine, who killed herself. She killed herself by taking off the ring that allowed her to be in the sunlight. Katharine was the reason why he wanted to become a vampire. She made him and his brother into vampires so they could be together forever. Stefan’s “harsh sobs went on and on” as he told Elena about his past finally. I think Stefan shared that with Elena because he is feeling safe with her, and now that he shared this information I think they will get closer.
