Safe Haven week 20

April2

Alex had run out of ideas to try and get Katie’s attention. Katie walks into the store one day and looks for her normal foods. Alex is behind the register pacing back and forth thinking about what to say. Kristen, Alex’s daughter, runs to Katie and starts talking about her doll. Katie starting telling Kristen how beautiful her doll is. Alex is standing there watching Katie interact perfectly with his daughter. Katie walks up to the register and it is Alex’s time to shine. He starts talking about books and which are his favorite. All of a sudden Katie is starring at the video monitor that shows the dock outside of the store. Alex’s son Josh is in the water  flailing his arms. Alex “launched himself from the dock” near Josh and grabs him and brings him to shore (Sparks 27,28).  Josh’s fishing rod got caught on a boat on its way out and did not want to let go and jumped in with it while swallowing a lot of water. If it were not for Katie, Josh might not of lived. I think after this accident Alex is going to be thanking Katie and getting to know her more.
