After killing her ex-boyfriend and both of her negligent parents dying during a domestic disput, Joy may be getting addicted to drugs. Early in the story Joy was taking multiple Advils and Tylenols then gradually moved up to her mothers unprescribed Vicodin. When she was staying at her new boyfriend’s house she took his pills too. When Joy went to the hospital after falling against a door the doctors gave her pain pills which she now takes on a regular basis, although the physical pain is gone. If Joy keeps going the way she is she could satrt taking stronger and stronger substances to make her feel better.
