“Until We Meet Again” Rachael
In the book “Until We Meet Again” Jaime has gotten the news from Hakeem about them going to move, her heart drops. Hakeem starts closing her out, they stop talking as much. Darcy is feeling depressed she really cares for Hakeem. While at lunch with her friend Tarah, a girl mentions how she heard about Hakeems moving and mentioned how Darcy must of not been that sad about it, that she found someone else; he saw Darcy rolling in Brians red Toyota. Darcy couldn’t help but snap because she knew the girl only wanted to start problems. When Darcy goes to baby sit on her first day, Brian, Liselle’s brother gives her a rose, and says it’s a “thank you” gift from him and Liselle for babysitting baby Kelena. She accepts the flower, doesn’t know what to think about it. She puts it in a small vase on her small windowsill. Darcy is amazed at the possibility of her family enjoying dinner like the old times before their dad had left them. Darcy’s mom might decide to take up part time, so she can be home more often. It’s such a hard decision for Darcy’s mom because of how she said she would never depend on no man again ever sense the day Darcy and Jamie’s dad had left them. I can relate because high school students are quick to make assumptions too quick, not even considering anything else, always trying to start problems. I can also connect, I’ve had moments were I didn’t really understand why somebody would do something. I predict Brian will try to get close with Darcy, and that Hakeem starts slowly losing Darcy.
