Technology makes life much easier but can still be bad for humans. I have a problem that entails cutting on my sleeping hours. I sometimes go to bed at around 12am just because i play my video games and i am on social networks using my phone. I just can’t sleep and cut on my precious sleeping hours because of my gadgets. It affects me deeply. Sometimes i sleep in my classes and pay no attention.
It will be very hard for me to break out with this habit because i think it is stuck with me. I know it is not healthy for the body. I always try to stop this habit but i cannot. Why? Because i just get to lie down on the bed and be texting or tweeting with my phone or playing the newest video game out.
I will try very hard to stop this habit as it is not good for me health-wise. Thoreau says in Walden “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” I really need to face the realities of life and know what is right from wrong. Taking this experiment will make me gain back my normal sleeping habit . I will also leave out all my games and go out more to be with nature.
I am not sure how you will do this when using technology is such a major part of your life! Is there a way to put the phone and video games in another room when you are sleeping? If it’s not with you then maybe you can stop using the technology. But, if it is right there at your finger tips, how will you ignore it? You can’t take a walk a midnight!
Yes that is just what i did and i found out that it is quite working for me. Because i am still used to the gadgets , i find it very difficult to separate myself from these things. I will continue to try my best to move on with this experiment and hope i am changed after it.
