This book “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet” is descriptive, you can tell that this book is going to be well written by just reading the cover of the book. You can start to already imagine what this book is going to be about and that you don’t imagine that this is going to be a happy adventurous book. Instead of saying, people where crowding around the hotel, he writes “just people drifting toward the hotel, like the tide going out, pulling at their feet, propelling them forward, one step at a time. (page 5)” You can tell that the author spent much time making their statements strong and descriptive. I cant wait to what other images Jamie Ford will paint in my head and i keep reading this book. Even though it is during the war time era they still end up making the book exciting and interesting with descriptive statements.
