Counterclaims:  Dimmesdale

Dimmesdale should confess that he committed a sin to the town’s people because if he gets it off him chest then he will feel less stress and he will get better in health. By him keeping all these things bottled up inside it’s wearing his body down mentally and emotionally. He should also confess because he is not being a true man because he is not stand up and doing his responsibilities.  Dimmesdale is responsible for   pearl.  He also can make everybody else life easier if he confess.

I understand why some may think that Demmesdale should keep it a secret because it will ruin his career and everyone will be mad at him and not respect him as a reverend.  People do not want him to lose his credibility. And  someone of his stature committing something of this crime would almost end his life because he the teachers of  puritan language . this could also affect his health even worst if he prolong it..

Character Blog Project 2

To begin with my name is Roger Chillingworth. There’s some wild things going on in my life right now. Many people know who I am and the kind of person I am. I live in a town in Puritan, New England. I have studied some learning of a doctrine in pass time. The townspeople believe anything I say. They even believe I’m a real doctor. Well you can call me that because I believe I can be one.

There’s a few problems and issues that are going on currently. No one knows that I’m Hester’s long-lost husband. I would say something but All the drama going on with Hester, personally I’m not trying to do with it. I’ve had a meeting with Hester and the governor a while back. Hester had a baby by the name of Pearl. We were deciding weather she was aloud to keep her baby. Personally I believe she should keep her baby. I’ve tried plenty of ways for them to stay together without me really being noticed of doing so.

I currently live with a man by the name of Reverend Dimmesdale. He’s going threw some things. There’s a few weird things that I noticed. I really moved in with him so I can get the solid truth of him saying he’s Hester’s baby daddy. Hester being my long-lost wife and all, I want to know whats exactly going on. At a time like this you wouldn’t expect anyone to hold deep secrets like this. It’s adultery.

A person like me has a lot of things troubling me and going on in my mind. I try doing a lot of other things. For instance my favorite thing to do is search the web and play games. The story i am Reading Is Food Inc. The Author is Peter Pringle. I Have Made a Few Connections. One Connection i have made so far is how Peter eats organic foods like i do. Peter Also wants Change in the United States Food System like i do. Lastly, Peter tries to educate others on the food system. ” This book is for people who still have an open mind abou genetically modified foods”.

My name is Roger chillingworth.   I am known in the town for being a doctor, a good friend with reverend Dimmsdale, and often described as Hester’s long lost husband.  My life up until now has been very good I’m finally about to see my wife that I have seen in two years.  I think of my fellow Puritans as crazy people I don’t like.  I am most concerned about what my wife has done all the time I have been gone.  My greatest hope is that my wife hasn’t cheated on me. The first thing I see when I got into the town is the whole town looking at somebody, so I rushed to see what is going on and I see my wife with a baby in her hands with an A on her chest. Then I had to ask everybody what did she do to get this. Then one guy told me that she committed adultery with a man. After he told me that I asked if anyone knew who the baby father was and everybody said they did not know. Then I went to give the baby medicine and she was refusing and said ‘’I can’t believe you’d take your revenge out on an innocent child”, because she thought it was poison. Then we argued a while about who was the baby father and she still would not tell me. Then I told my friend reverend Dimmsdale to ask her who the baby father was and he also could not figure it out because she would not tell him or nobody. After all the drama in that one day we decided to setup a meeting about if Hester should keep her child or she should not. The meeting was not good reverend said she should keep the child. That’s when set my goal that I am going to find the baby father. I have been using this site to find the baby father http://www.peoplefinders.com/.

The scarlet letter has been a good book so far and I like it. The main character is Hester Prynne who has comitted adultury with a man other than her husband. Then her husband came to join her after sending her 2 years before. After that he found out that his wife cheated on him and had a child with the person. Then he tried to ask her who the baby father was but she would not give it up. after he tried asking he asked reverend Dimmsdale tried to ask her who it was but she still refused. Then dimmsdale got sick and weaker and weaker. That’s what I’ve read so far.

My greatest hope right now is to convince Dimmesdale that he should just go ahead and just omit that he is guilty of adultery. I already know that he is guilty of it. All I need him to do is officially omit it too my face. And to everybody in town that he has committed adultery. I want to him to pay for what he has done.  “One night I went into dimmesdale bedroom and I saw something on his chest”. To be honest I didn’t know what it was. To me in my opinion I think it was a name. All I could make out was the letter H. which at the time I thought it stood for Hester. Which I was about to get excited because I finally had the evidence to get Dimmesdale for Adultery however. Like I said I’m not pretty sure what I saw.  But I’m not a 100% sure so I can’t accuse him of adultery.

I know for a fact that if I keep up with secretly trying to convince Dimmesdale to just, tells the truth. He will for a fact will crack under my pressure, just like an investigator would be interrogating a suspect of a crime. I know he would hide such a dark deed and know he must be having a guilty mind. By just knowing that people truly believe that you’re a holy man must drive him crazy. Added the fact that I want him to man up and tell me and the whole town. It must be hard on him both mentally and physically. And I know it is, I am not going to help him until he confesses to me about his sins. If he dies of his illness than he will just have to answer to god not me.

The rest of the town must think that what Dimmesdale did was wrong and they have the right to know the truth. I saw Dimmesdale, Hester and Pearl standing on the scaffold they all know that what they did was wrong and that is the punishment they deserve. It has been 7 years already and I am still trying to hurt Dimmesdale. On the other side I can’t believe Hester would be saying this to me. While I was at sea shore picking plants for medicine Hester came up to me with an attitude, I can tell by the way she spoke to me. Hester talked to me about taking the promise back from her about my identity. She wanted to tell Dimmesdale about me, and why I was treating him like that. He turned me into a demon, but not only him Hester has an equal fault in this too. I know I have turned into a demon, I look evil, hard and cold but that’s because of what I have been going through this past 7 years.

Did any of them thought about what I was going through for the past 7 years and not think about themselves for once? I searched up about revenge: http://www.wikihow.com/Scheme-and-Get-Revenge I told Hester that she can do whatever she wants if she wants to tell Dimmesdale about me she can I am not going to stop her. I am done with Dimmesdale! My plan was just to kill Dimmesdale and I think I have succeeded in it even though he is not dead. I know he is dying inside and I want him to suffer like that. Even though Hester tells Dimmesdale about me, nothing will happen. He is a coward; he can’t even do anything he committed a sin which he can’t even confess about. Revenge is Fun!

 As Pearl and I were walking along enjoying the quiet and darkness of the night, we heard loud laughter coming from the punishment scaffold.  Pearl and I often take walks after dark, when all the towns people are in their homes for the evening.  We do this so we can enjoy are walks and not have to listen to the people of the town talk about us and make fun of us.  Noticing that the person laughing was Reverend Dimmesdale, Pearl and I walked up onto the platform.  When we got on the platform, Pearl stood between Reverend Dimmesdale and myself.  She reached up and held both our hands.  “The three formed a chain-Dimmesdale felt new energy, even though lately he had felt sick and tired (79).  It felt like we were finally a family.  I did not know what to say and either did Reverend Dimmesdale.  We both just felt that this is where we should be and that it felt right.  Pearl kept asking if we could do this again tomorrow.  Even though she did not know Reverend Dimmesdale was her father, I think she felt the same connection as I did.    All of a sudden a huge glowing red “A” appeared int the sky.  Maybe it was Gods way of  showing everyone the truth.

I could have stayed there holding hands forever.  After seeing the glowing red “A”, we looked down and saw Roger Chillingworth staring up at us.  Reverend Dimmesdale asked me who that man was.  I kept my promise to Roger and did not say a word.  Roger Chillingworth told Reverend Dimmesdale to get down from the platform, he was too important in the community to be acting in such a way.  Reverend Dimmesdale left with Roger Chillingworth and as Pearl and I went home, I could not help but wonder what the two men were talking about.

I often think about what it would be like to be a family.  The three of us could live together and be happy.  I look on websites all the time to find out things to do as a family.  My favorite is http://www.parents.com/familyfun-magazine/.
