In UnWholly Lev has just been through another tragic event; Pastor Dan was killed in an attack that was suppose to be for him and his brother who was his gaurdian was put into a coma. Lev has only minor injuries but is now without a home and realizes that his parents will never take him back. When this random women comes up to him and offers him a place to stay were his needs will be taken care of he goes for it because he feels he has nothing more to lose. To his surprise he finds himself in a place were he is seen as a hero. Tithes are saved and brought to this place so they can realize that their lives don’ have to end when others say. He has been put in a position were the people in charge use his image as a control mechanism. One of the new tithes who was saved, called Miracolina, i predict will cause Lev trouble. She feels that saving her was a, “corruption of her sacred destiny” (Shusterman 202). I believe that there is chance that Miracolina will rat out their operation.

Ethan was hostage from an ederly man. He went on his school bus, killed the bus driver and kdnapped Ethan. Its been days that Ethan got rescued. He is now safe because they shot the man. Ethans mom talked to Dr.Phill about what is happening to Ethan now. He has trouble sleeping and he just just keep thinking about what happened. She also talked about where he was hostage.While reading the article I can visualize how the man was keeping Ethan. Ethan was in a small room where no one would ever think. It was shocking how the man gave medication to Ethan due to his disabilities. He softned to Ethan but the authorities had plans to capture him. They explained how they captured him. The face Ethan made when he saw a police shoot the man. Ethan is now at home with his mom who is taking good care of him.

Nicky Cruz has just hit a girl over the head with a rock and watched her bleed. He has now been expelled from school and his parents are considering sending him to live in New York. He has a brother in New York and they think it will be good for him to get away Puerto Rico. When he got there he started to run from the cop that was supposed to take him to his brother and then when he was caught he spit in the officers face. I don’t think that New York will not be good for him because that city is just as worse as where he was living in Puerto Rico. There are so many gangs there it would not be safe for a person as dangerous as Nicky.

Prediction

In the story run baby run, Nicky Cruz was a very angry child growing up. He would beat up on other kids and get suspended from school. His parents would even call him a devil child. They also use to put him in the pigeon coop for punishment. I can slightly visualize how Nicky Cruz was growing up because I use to get angry sometimes. A lot of the students in elementary school made me mad and I almost fought a lot of them.

The book i am currently reading is titled the Lovely Bones. It is a novel written by Alice Sebold. The book is all about a devastated family from a gruesome murder. A murder witnessed by the victim. In heaven the teenager gives a description starting from the time she confronted the killer on a December afternoon coming home from school. She was lured into an underground tunnel and then raped and killed. The Family does not know all that. “Each time I told my story,” she says “I lost a bit, the smallest drop of pain. It was that day that I knew I wanted to tell the story of my family” and for real “horror on Earth is real and it is every day. It is like a flower or like the sun” and “it cannot be contained.”The family is in a state of grieve and sadness and the family members just want peace and a good sense of love and affection. Susie just want to console her family and hope that the killer will  eventually be caught. I predict the killer will be caught and her soul will rest in eternal peace once and for all.

Tyrone’s poem impresses Mr. ward. Tyrone himself is impressed by Chankara Troupe who is telling a story through her poem. Tyrone made connections with her story ” my pops used to hit my mom like that” says when Chankara shares how her mom was abused by her father. Tyrone, and chankara sat across each other in lunch, & learned more about each others lives.Tyrone stared at Chankara’s bruises thinking to himself who would do such a think to a beautiful woman. I predict that Tyrone, and chankara will eventually be together.

Tyrone Bittings is a high school student that doesn’t really care about school ” he tries to act like hes not even interested in school like there’s no point in studying hard”. In his English class they are learning about the Harlem renaissance which Tyrone actually found interesting. Since they have been reading poems in class there teacher Mr. ward has asked them to write an easy on the Harlem renaissance. Since poetry is similar to rap this is the first assignment that Tyrone is eager to do.

Summary

I have started a new book, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. It is a very good book so far. It starts out with Finn moving in an out of the home where he was adopted. He is a wild kid and the “new widow” wants to straighten him out. Finn often makes rude remarks like “grumble for a pray” when there at the dinner table. But eventually Finn agrees to somewhat settle down aslong as he can run with Tom sawyers band of theifs.

This book is about a girl named Winter who is from Brooklyn, New York.  Winter is the daughter of  Brooklyn’s most popular drug dealer, Ricky Santiaga. Winter is the oldest of out 4 kids, she has 3 little sisters. Winter also has the biggest crush on one of her father’s workers “Midnight”.  The reading strategy I am going to us is a connection. The connection I’m going to make is  one between Winter and Midnight and another in the book “Moth To A Flame” that has to do with Raven and Ethic. In “Moth To A Flame” Raven started liking Ethic when she was only 17, and Ethic would not even given Raven the time of day. Ethic did not give Raven the time of day because he knew that Raven was not mature enough for him. Since Ethic wasn’t paying any attention to Raven, she started going out with someone 5 years older then her. When she started going with Mizan it was great but then everything got worse. Towards the in of the book Ethic and Raven finally got together and they had a baby. In the book “The Coldest Winter Ever” Winter likes Midnight now and she’s only 16 or 17 but Midnight isn’t even paying attention to her. I think Winter is going to find somebody else to go out with and she is going to like it in the beginning but in the end everything gets worse. I also  think towards the end of the book Midnight and are going to get together too. I used connection because I feel like winter and Raven lives are similar to each other.

The book “It’s kind of a funny story” is about a kid named Craig Gilner. He is a trouble child because he is constantly talking about things that have went wrong in his life causing him to think of suicide.  He is usually unable to say exactly what he wants, so he stumbles over his words when he speaks and he says he is unable to handle situation maybe because he feels pressured.  He is a gifted student, he made it into a school where you have to take a test to get in it; he scored an 800 out of 800.  He lacks confidence in himself because he compares himself to his friend Aaron who is going out with girl that Craig likes, so he thinks Aaron is better than him. Also there is a part in the book where Craig imagine what Aaron’s girlfriend my think of him and he thinks she says that Aaron has his life under control and is smarter than Craig because he did not study for the test, he passed it and was accepted into the school.
