From what I have read so far I predict that a meteor will hit the Earth. Everyone in the book is getting ready to watch this meteor hit the moon and making a big deal out of it. I just thought that it was something to write about in the book until the main characters brother called one night when he usually never does. The part that got me thinking that the meteor that is supposed to hit the moon is going to hit the Earth when the brother says “I have a funny feeling, I guess it’s this moon business.”  Then when the sister said “it’s not like the meteor is going to hit us,” I thought to myself that she just jinxed the situation. So now I’m pretty sure that Life as we know it is going to be from the point of view as people panicking about how the Earth might be destroyed.

Lia Niebauer- Prediction

Into The Wild follows the story of a young man named Chris McCandless.  The story is told through the letters he sent on his journey and interviews of the people he met.  He was heavily influenced by Henry David Thorough and Jack London.  He would often paraphrase and quote them; saying things like “You are wrong if you think joy emanates only or principally from human relationships. God has placed it all around us. It is in everything and anything we might experience. We just have to have the courage to turn against our habitual lifestyle and engage in unconventional living.” He is saying that joy does not solely come from human relationships.  That joy is all around us, in nature, and all we have to do to experience joy is to break free from society, very much like Thorough.

I just started reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. The book has been really interesting so far. The book’s narrator is a freshman in High School named Charlie. Charlie is the youngest of the children and he has an older brother and sister.  I predict that Charlie will have a very hard time in High School. I predict that he will have a hard time in High School because in his first week in Hish School he got into a fight with a guy named sean who, “then got mad and started to hit” him. Charlie just seems like he will have a hard time making friends and fitting in with everyone.

Tiarra Andrews-Owens- Prediction

The new book that i chose next to read is Life as we know it. As I am reading this I can already relate to the main character, i do not know her name because this book is written as her diary. She has a love hate relationship with her step mom and i can relate because i now how that feels. I know how it feels to hate someone but then you have moments when you love them. That is  how she felt as she said “Thats the problem i have with Lisa, whenever I want to get mad at her, or just irritated because she really can be immensely irritating, she goes and does something nice.” I feel like this is a good book that i will be able to relate to because I know some of the feelings that she is going through already.

Lia Niebauer- Connection

As a normal schoolboy in Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker Alex was innocent and was living his life free of distractions and living with his uncle as a bank manager. They do not even see that much. So one day the uncle decided to hang out with Alex. Unfortunately he died from the mission he was sent on. Alex did not know that his uncle was a secret agent. When he died the MI6 saw the potential in the Alex’s eye. He was really intrigued by the technology he saw. So he decided to work for the agency. He then received a mission to stop a terrible organization from taking over the world and also knew this was a revenge fight for his uncle that was killed. A really good book from  Anthony Horowitz!

I have a feeling that this will be the last thing I write ever again. I feel that my time on this earth has come to an end. The doctor, (or know known as Chillingworth, as I found that out from Hester), has pushed me to my last point. Now I do not have the will to live anymore. It saddens me that I have to leave this earth but I know there is no life left in me.

What really saddens me is that I will not be able to see my own daughter grow up, (yes everyone, my daughter is Pearl). She is such a beautiful girl and deserves to be showered with attention every second of every day. I will also dearly miss getting a chance to be with the beautiful woman Hester. She deserves a man who will treat her right.

I have come to accept my death by looking at a site with cancer patients who have come to accept their own demise. It brought hope to me that I am leaving this earth on a good note. My last sermon I plan to do will blow everybody away. I was planning to call everybody out and insult a couple of people before I passed on, but now that I have come to my senses I have thought against it. I plan on leaving everybody wanting to learn more about God and all he has done for us. I know people will be sad but they should not be. All I am doing is going to heaven a couple of years before them. The best part of all of this is that I can finally leave the clutches of that devil Chillingworth. “Ha, tempter!  Methinks thou art too late!” answered the minister, encountering his eye, fearfully, but firmly.  “Thy power is not what it was!  With God’s help, I shall escape thee now!”(pg. 198)

Dr. Alex Delaware learns that the name of the young lady that died is betty. He is convinced that Dr. Moreland has something to do with it but has no proof. When Dr. Delaware made a visit to Dr. moreland he was in disbelief to see Dr. moreland opening the door with blood in his hand. ” Moreloand stood there rubbing his forehead with one hand and the other was palm down driping blood”. I predict that what Dr. Delaware thought was blood is probably paint or, color from an experiment that Dr. Moreland was doing.

Dag Dawit: Prediction

As I’ve been reading, Andi and her husband Ethan have been getting a long better now that they talked the situation out. Ethan was cleaning out the garage when Andi came home after being out with a friend and mistakenly thought that he was leaving. Ethan said “I would never leave you, I hate it when we argue…….” This quote tells me that he does care about his wife, but she thinks that he doensn’t. They go through hell because of his daughter. She’s 18; messing around with multiple guys, sneaking out and coming back late in the moring, and very disrespectful to her step mom. Emily can’t accept the fact that her father has another woman in his life other than her mother. The reading strategy I am choosing is ‘Prediction’. I predict that Emily and Andi are going to have a really bad arguement. Andi might either leave the house, or leaving for good. I also predict that because Emily is messing around with so many other guys, that she will probably become pregnant knowing that her step mother can’t have kids; trying to mock her.

I feel that Ponyboys’ friend Johnny will not survive after being burned. The book said that he was hit be a board and was badly burned. They also say that he was paralyzed from the waist down and was growing worse by the day. The upcoming gang war is also going to be won by the greasers because they are deeper than the socials. I also see Dally acting up once he finds out that Johnny is going to die, I presume. Dally is one of those wild ones.

This book was a breathtaking book that really made you feel sympathy for all of the events that Amari had to go through. After hours of hiding out and having the fear of getting caught and having her heart racing 24/7 was all over when she finally was able to be free. Since the book has ended I predict that she will now be able to live on with her life because she has escaped to the free land. Since Amari has now found a place where “the same sun that set each evening upon her homeland,” he can finally be at peace. Even though she has lost all of her family I predict that she will make other people that she will consider family again because “she knew that she had found a home once more.” I predict that she will soon be able to enjoy life again even though she has lost all the people she loved before she was captured, she will be able to start a new enjoyable life.
