i am currently reading Harry Potter the chamber of secrets, and i have two question to ask. my first question is how did the giant snake get in the walls any? the reason the why i asked is, because in the book the snake was some how sneaking through the wall and some how getting out, and attacking the students. and the second reason is, because “harry I think it is in the walls” that is the part i don’t understand: why or even who would a giant snake get into a stone wall in the first place. my second question is how did the snake get in the school in the first place. the reason why i asked this question is because i do not fully understood why you would have something like that in the first place. personally I have never heard of anyone who would be crazy enough to keep a gigantic snake as a pet.

On this website I visited it was talking about bullying. It said how bullying is a form of comfort to others when I say the word ”comfort” I mean I makes the person that is bullying happy, satisfied, and entertained. They feel this why because there’s something that they are missing in their life and they use bullying to cover up the pain. They make other innocent people suffer because of their sufferings. Theirs a lot of forms of bullying like the phrase go ”bullying comes in many shapes and sizes” by that being said theirs many ways of handling bullying. Theirs going to an adult or a teacher or maybe just standing up for yourself. When their is a person that seem tuff to you theirs always someone that’s bigger and way more tuff them he/she.

Pi starts to tell the reader about his early life in Pondicherry, India. He tells the story about how his parents named him after a swimming pool, after describing it as “The crowning aquatic glory of Paris, indeed, of the entire civilized world.” This represents the love connection between family, an important aspect in Indian culture. Little did they know it would be a source of torment for Pi. The children of India had trouble pronouncing his name, so instead, they called him “pissing”. This led to the creation of Pi. On his first day of secondary school, he approached the board, when asked for his name, he drew a circle with a diameter through the center. He repeated this in every class throughout the day. He said, “Repetition is important in the training not only of animals but also of humans.” This shows his potential for great things.

The character Pi, in Life of Pi, starts the book off with the quote, “My suffering left me sad and gloomy.” Immediately, I thought to myself that this was going to be a long and monotonous book full of sorrows. After reading the first three chapters, I started to like the book a lot more. The main character, Pi, in the first chapter, divulges his interest of religion and zoology to the reader. He explains that his dissertation was on the three-toed sloth, a very intriguing creature in his eyes. He says, “The three-toed sloth is not well informed about the outside world.” This statement is very peculiar and I think gives you great insight into who Pi really is. He also majored in Theology and I can foreshadow that this will be a very important theme in this book.

Brittney and Alex have a class together and found out that they have to be partners for the rest of the year. They really do not like being partners and already have problems within the first five minutes of class. They find out that they have a really big project to do for a major grade. The connection I made was one time my teacher assign partners I act the same way if I do not like the person.

Lord Eddard Stark travels south to Kings Landing, the capitol of Westeros, with King Robert Baratheon, who visited Winterfell to hear the news of the White Walkers. The king wants Ned to become the new Hand of the King. Ned’s youngest son Bran is in a coma, after he was pushed out the window of a tower while discovering Queen Cersei committing incest with her brother Jamie Lannister. Ned’s wife, Catelyn, becomes suspicious of Queen Cersei, believing that her husband is in danger and is curious of the suspicions circumstances surrounding the death of the previous hand. She decides to travel to Kings Landing in secret, leaving their oldest son, Rob Stark to be lord of Winterfell. As a sign of good will, Ned gives his eleven year old daughter, Sansa, to be married to the king’s heir, Robert’s twelve year old son, Prince Joffrey. Ned begins his duties as King’s Hand, which includes governing Westeros. I believe that the King is not plotting to kill Ned, but his wife, Cersei, is going to remain loyal to her family, the Lannisters, and is going to try to over throw the Baratheons and hand the position of king to her powerful father, Tywin Lannister.

A Game of Thrones is the first volume of the series A Song of Ice and Fire, written by George R. R. Martin. The book is a fantasy novel set in the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos. The story contains a very wide variety of characters, all portrayed from their point of view. The continents are split into families that control their own section. The Nights Watch in the north guards a massive wall built to keep the violent tribe, called the Wildlings, out; as well as keeping legendary creatures known as the white walkers, who have not been seen since the wall was built thousands of years ago. Directly below is the land of Winterfell, ruled by House Stark; Eddard “Ned” Stark, lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North must execute a deserter from the Night’s Watch. When asking him for his last words, the deserter explains that he saw the White Walkers coming from the north, he ran after they killed his entire troop. The chapter ends with Ned’s mother explaining that “fear is for the winter, my little lord, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep and the ice wind comes howling out of the north. Fear is for the long night, when the sun hides its face for years at a time, and little children are born and live and die all in darkness while the direwolves grow gaunt and hungry, and the white walkers move through the woods” (Martin.) The whole story reminds me of the feudalism in Europe during the Middle ages; rich families fighting for power while ignoring the plague and famine killing all the people they rule.

Towards the middle of Looking for Alaska, Pudge and his friends are faced with a tragedy that continues for the rest of the book. The morning after Alaska suddenly left the school in the middle of the night, drunk and crying, the Dean of Students called in an emergency assembly. The tragic news that Alaska had gotten in a wreck and died brought the school to a halt. Pudge explains that “when adults say, “Teenagers think they are invincible” with that sly, stupid smile on their faces, they don’t know how right they are. We need never be hopeless, because we can never be irreparably broken. We think that we are invincible because we are. We cannot be born, and we cannot die. Like all energy, we can only change shapes and sizes and manifestations. They forget that when they get old. They get scared of losing and failing. But that part of us greater than the sum of our parts cannot begin and cannot end, and so it cannot fail” (Green.) This reminds me of the idea that ideas and influences last far longer than the people who make them.
