PicCollage & Seesaw

PicCollage is an app on the classroom iPads that allows students to showcase their knowledge by using this digital poster board. Students can type captions, draw, import pictures, and use other design options.

Students used PicCollage to created “Wanted Posters” as a transfer task. They could save and upload pictures of the “criminal,” or take pictures of their “suspect.” On PicCollage, they could write their caption and add other emoticons.

Students turned in the project on Seesaw. Seesaw is an app on the iPads that is a student-driven digital portfolio that empowers students of all ages to independently document and share what they are learning at school. The students had to go into the Seesaw app, and scan the QR code I printed for their class. They could then upload their project directly from the PicCollage app onto their personal online portfolio.

Attached is the descption of the transfer task and the graphic organizer used to sort the students’ ideas.
